“When
asked to do it, get right to it!”
BEATING
Hurry-Up can be just that simple!!
Here’s
a tip for you:
Set a timer and if you have done what you were asked to
do before the buzzer goes off, you just BEAT Hurry-Up!!!

Make this a teamwork situation. Kids need it to be fun
to beat Hurry-Up or they will have no
reason to cooperate since they generally aren’t
in a hurry, or are just so busy with whatever they are
doing that they don’t get started on their tasks.
Make it a contest between you and them and see who can
be ready first (let them win or tie if they are making
the effort, or, set a timer and play “Beat the
Buzzer”. Whatever strategy you agree on, always
say, “When asked to do it…” and they
will say back “You get right to it!” The
spirit of this is like a coach and a football team yelling
something in the huddle just before the game starts. |
